IDFA DocLab is organising partner of PhotoStories, a new conference about webdocumentary and photography-based multimedia storytelling.
IDFA DocLab is organising partner of PhotoStories, a new conference about webdocumentary and photography-based multimedia storytelling. The conference takes place in Rotterdam from 19-21 May.
Guests like Todd Heisler (New York Times), Paul Moakley (Time Magazine), Alexandre Brachet (Upian), Bjarke Myrthu (StoryPlanet), Jeremy Mendes (interactive designer and director at National Film Board of Canada), Adrian Kelterborn (Magnum in Motion) and Caspar Sonnen (IDFA DocLab) will share both their practical experience and visions for the future of documentary photography and storytelling.
Alongside the conference, an extensive 3-day workshop ‘Multimedia Storytelling for Photographers’ takes place for a select group of participants, hosted by Henrik Kastenskov from Bombay Flying Club.
The purpose of PhotoStories is to give photographers and other documentary storytellers the opportunity to become acquainted with various perspectives on the new media world. Important themes during the conference are: ‘New ways of storytelling’, ‘The future of photo-journalism’, ‘What exactly is a webdocumentary?’, ‘Finding an audience’, ‘How to use audio and image in an interactive story’, etc..

PhotoStories is organised by Nederlands Fotomuseum together with IDFA DocLab, PhotoQ, Paradox, Noorderlicht and Jenny Smets. It is an initiative of the intendant documentary photography, financially supported by Dutch BKVB Fund.
