Founded in 1998, Upian has been producing webdocumentaries since 2005 with its first creation, lacitedesmortes.net. Over the last few years, Upian has become one of the world’s major players in the field of webdocumentary, producing some of the most inovative projects among which: thanatorama.com (2007); gaza-sderot.arte.tv (2008 – Prix Europa); prisonvalley.arte.tv (2010 – World Press Photo first prize of the interactive category for the multimedia contest) ; happy-world.com (2011) and Alma A Tale Of Violence (2012 IDFA Doclab award, World Press Photo, Sheffield Doc Fest innovation award, Grimme online award, Etoile de la Scam). Among Upian’s last production, The 1000 €uro game : a small story factory that takes the viewer in a journey across France with the team of the oldest and most famous radio quiz show.

Upian, together with Yami2 and France Television, produced Generation Quoi, a documentary experience about the state of the youth in France.

At IDFA 2015, Upian introduced Do Not Track – a web documentary project based on an idea by Brett Gaylor.
