Natural Life: Interactive Archive

Follow the stories of five individuals who were incarcerated for Life Without Parole (Natural Life) for crimes they committed as youth.

Natural Life is a threefold experimental documentary comprised of a single channel video, a gallery installation and an interactive online archive. The piece challenges inequities in the juvenile justice system by depicting, through documentation and reenactment, the stories of five individuals who were incarcerated for Life Without Parole (Natural Life) for crimes they committed as youth. The current version is an interactive web based exhibition platform which includes an interactive archive of footage drawn from close to 50 interviews conducted during the project’s production, and enabling navigation through material not included in the final single channel video.
