London Recruits: The Secret War Against Apartheid

Immerse yourself in an experiential documentary on a group of young Londoners recruited to carry out secret missions in resistance to South African apartheid.

1960s and 1970s apartheid South Africa saw anti-apartheid leaders like Nelson Mandela jailed or killed for their resistance to a racist regime. It compelled specially recruited young Londoners to head to South Africa and carry out secret solidarity missions that saw some of them jailed as political prisoners. This experiential and interactive documentary from incorporates common online devices such as the internet ‘pop-up’ and non-linear narrative forms to tell their story.
