Industry Talk: Web Series

Exploring the challenges and opportunities of short-form and serialized documentary storytelling.

The way audiences consume content changes constantly, with short-form filmmaking and serial storytelling becoming more and more popular. What are the new opportunities and challenges for documentary filmmakers, interactive storytellers and new media professionals? How do you build and keep an online audience, and how can you finance your series? IFP’s Amy Dotson gives an overview of how to create and craft an original and high-quality web series. Filmmaker and radio producer Bianca Giaever shares her experience of crafting online work. And Alexandre Brachet talks about his recent experience as a producer of the successful interactive web series Do Not Track.
Moderator: Ingrid Kopp (Tribeca Film Institute)
Guests: Amy Dotson (Independent Filmmaker Project), Bianca Giaever (This American Life) Alexandre Brachet (Upian; Do Not Track)
