Holy Mountain

Exploring people’s relationship to the sacred through the city’s landmark, Mount Royal.

Holy Mountain is an interactive documentary produced by the NFB that explores people’s relationship to the sacred through the city’s landmark, Mount Royal.

From the important cultural and social diversity present on the mountain, the authors question the persistence of the sacred in a society allergic to religiousdogma. Medieval re-enactments of the great religious wars, the dancers in a trance to the rhythm of drums, cemeteries, many religious cultures that coexist atthe top of picnics and barbecues on Sunday, as many rituals that reflect a special relationship and spiritual with Mount Royal.

Holy Mountain is a living work where capsules of videos, photographs and audio will be posted in every ten days in September 2010.
