Industry Event: Cross Media pitch at IDFA

Emerging new media formats snatch some limelight at IDFA 2010.

Evidence that Cross Media (transmedia?) is no longer the gimmicky sidekick to traditional film! IDFA is hosting a dedicated Cross Media pitch this year, as part of the hallowed Forum pitching sessions on Monday 22nd and Tuesday 23rd November. Only open for industry professionals alas, but we can’t wait to hear the line-up of 26 selected projects – and what inspiration we can glean from them on the new formats front…

Say IDFA’s powers that be: “We look for projects in which filmmakers use other techniques to tell their stories – films that utilize the Internet as a primary component or are developed with the Internet in mind. Projects that make use of the Internet and other media to support the distribution of a traditional documentary are not eligible for the new media category.”
