The world premiere of Prison Valley by the same team that created the landmark Gaza / Sderot web documentary last year was so full that they wouldn’t let me – yes ME, your dedicated Blogger – in! However, at the super-fun DocLab party right across the street at the fabled Escape club, word on the street was that it was “amazing”, “brilliant”, and “badass”. Set in a Colorado nowhere town which contains no less than 13 prisons, the documentary explores the privatized prison industry which generates billions in profit per year by employing the labours of under-paid prisoners.
