Africa to Australia is an interactive documentary that follows the stories of Africans who came to Australia.
Africa to Australia is an interactive documentary that tells the stories of African immigrants and refugees living in Australia.
Using a multi-platform and multi-lingual approach, the interactive site (which has been translated and subtitled into the six highest needs languages spoken in the African-Australian community) uses a combination of full-screen video, high resolution photography, rich design and text to share views about immigration, racism, family and the struggle to belong in a new place. The immersive atmosphere draws the viewer deeper into the lives of the remarkable African people that have migrated to Australia, bringing with them their culture, their stories and their faith in a bright future.
Some came by choice. Others were driven from their homes and families by a variety of causes, including conflict, political unrest, economic uncertainty and famine. The stories they tell and the roles they play are amazingly diverse. Some are refugees; some are parents, spouses, brothers, sisters; some are athletes; some are activists, students, volunteers, neighbors.
